UNFCCC Bonn meeting 1-12 June 2009 – still nice atmosphere but no milestones

Dear Readers, We are after another UNFCCC meeting of ad-hoc working groups this year. The summit in Bonn started at 1st of June and ended on 12th of June. In experts opinions it brought some progress i.e.

Dear readers, According to results presented by Australian Department of Climate Change emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) rose by 1,1% in 2008 compared to year 2007. Carbon ‘Pedometer’ enables Volvo to cut emissions from commute

Dear Readers, At the end of May 2009 Volvo group presented an unique tool (maybe somebody heard about it but I wasn’t familiar with it) called ‘CO2 pedometer’ which helps to monitor the carbon emissions from commute (travels home – work).

Dear readers, Today we have an international Children’s day, but additionally on 1st of June 2009 the second UNFCCC meeting starts in Bonn. Will this 12-day event bring any progress for global agreement that should be signed in Copenhagen in December 2009? It depends.
